We are looking for a engaging and positive HR Assistant to support our HR department in their daily activities.  

The successful HR Assistant will be working closely with the rest of the HR team and will report to the HR Business Partner.

The HR Assistant will undertake a variety of HR administrative duties and a wide range of support activities inside the HR department, from preparing staff letters to maintaining our employee database and posting job ads. Other responsibilities include preparing personnel data from a variety of sources and assisting with maintaining policies, processes and documents.

The HR Assistant will also coordinate with Managers on various staff matters with guidance from the HR Business Partner and will ensure employee requests are directed to the correct person to deal with them.

As the HR Assistant will be working within a small team, they will need to be willing to get involved in designated tasks when needed. They will also need to be a motivated individual, who is organized and has a professional and confidential approach to working.

Essential

  • Strong writing and proofreading skills.
  • HR administration experience and experience of working with HR software.
  • Discrete and confidential working manner.
  • Excellent data processing and excel skills, with the ability to interpret data and produce reports and present information.
  • Excellent people skills and experience of handling people situations.

Desirable

  • Basic knowledge of employment law.
  • Experience in a similar position.
  • Some payroll experience would be beneficial.
What will you be doing?

Role Responsibilities; 

  • Assist with the day to day operations of the HR department and duties.
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to the HR department.
  • Prepare staff letters & documents (e.g. contracts, role changes & leaver letters).
  • Compile and update employee records (hard and soft copies).
  • Maintain the People data base (PeopleHR).
  • Prepare Personnel data and reports (e.g. staffing, recruitment, training, performance evaluations etc).
  • Support HR projects (meetings, training, surveys etc).
  • Ensure employee requests are directed to the Line Manager.
  • Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data (absences, bonus, leave information, etc).
  • Supporting recruitment processes as necessary.
  • Coordinate communication with candidates and schedule interviews.
  • Completing references for new starters.
  • Ensure GDPR requirements are adhered to.
  • Support initial on-boarding for newly hired employees.
