We are looking for an experienced Data Developer to join our growing Systems & Data Team (SDT). You’ll help us develop and extend our Data Warehouse and analytics platform, a key component in our data transformation. You will be involved in designing, building, testing and operating data models, working closely with direct colleagues in SDT, the Business Performance Team and other members of the Tech team.  

Developing appropriate data models for use cases like user segmentation, real time price management or yield management will enable Travel Chapter to respond even faster to changes in the market, helping us further improve the service we give to our property owners and guests. 


We are looking for

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

  • Experience working on high availability, low latency online marketplace platform(s)
  • Experience delivering analytics & reporting technology for internal and external end users


Commercial experience of:

  • MS SQL Server 2019
  • SQL Server Reporting Services 2019
  • SQL Server Integration Services 2019
  • Data Modelling
  • Power BI
  • BigQuery
  • MySQL
  • Python
  • Documentation
  • Understanding of testing strategies
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies 

Working Hours

  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Normal working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm
  • Should also be available to provide out of hours support as and when required in line with the agreed SLA’s

Work Location

  • Main work location will be work from home
  • Should also be available to regularly travel to HQ in Bideford subject to business needs
What will you be doing?

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Project Managers and Senior Developers to ensure the timely completion of projects.
  • Work with Senior members of the team to improve our development tools, processes, technology stack, application performance and stability.
  • Implement technical projects to facilitate business efforts and goals.
  • Provide and support code reviews to improve the quality of developments released.
  • Assist in troubleshooting production issues to resolution ensuring that measures are put in place where possible to stop reoccurrence.
  • Document new developments and update existing documentation within confluence.
  • Provide out of hours support as required in line with the organisation SLA’s
